Butter Keeper Crock #1

This butter keeper is my take on the classic crock design. This particular crock has a transparent, multicolored gloss glaze on the inside and outside and sweeping floral carvings.

To use, fill about a third of the base with cold water and a pinch of salt. Pack fresh, room temperature butter into the butter bell on the lid, and put the lid back on the jar. The water keeps the butter cool and airtight, but soft enough to spread. Refresh the water every 2-4 days and keep the crock out of direct sunlight for best results.
